Herr-Voss Stamco

Herr-Voss Stamco Quick Facts

Herr-Voss Stamco® and its predecessors have a long history in the metals processing industry. The Herr-Voss Stamco name reflects the names of all the predecessor companies that contributed to that history.

The Herr Equipment Company was founded by Richard Herr in Warren, Ohio in 1946. Herr Equipment specialized in designing and building equipment for the strip processing industry, including annealing lines, cut-to-length lines, slitting lines, and tension level lines. The Herr Equipment company was a pioneer in tension leveling, and was the first company to offer tension leveling lines as we know them today.

The Voss Engineering Company was founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1933. Voss Engineering built their reputation on designing and building roller levelers. Their first model was the Inverted Leveler, which was later followed by the Keystone Leveler.

The Stamco name came from The Streine Tool & Mfg. Company of New Bremen, Ohio, with roots going back to 1885. Stamco built their reputation around the design and manufacturing of slitting, multi-blank, and tension leveling lines.

In 1970 the Herr Equipment company joined with the Voss Engineering Company to form the Herr-Voss Corporation, located in Callery, Pennsylvania.
